The past few weeks have been whirlwind. I know I say this a lot, but it’s true! We brought on our new designer, Emily, we announced our new collection for Fall/Winter ’13 and last Friday night, we debuted a few of our favorite new designs on the runway at The National Needlearts Association’s (TNNA) Fashion Show in Columbus, OH.

Of course, that was just the start. Warren, Norah, Norah’s mom (in a less official capacity), Amanda, Emily and I spent the weekend showing off our new yarns and patterns to hundreds of LYSs. We got to spend time with some of our amazing sales reps and catch up with all of our industry friends (I feel like I can use the word “our” now that it’s my second TNNA and I actually have an idea who some of these people are!). As part of our exhibit, we set up a Berroco Fitting Booth, where anyone at the show could stop by and try on some of our most recent designs. We took pictures so people could remember how it fit and what changes they want to make when they start knitting. It was really interesting to see which designs were the most universally flattering. I even surprised myself and added a few more projects to my ever-growing knit list! Hume from Norah Gaughan vol. 13 seems to be the big winner this season, though it had some close competition!
As I found with my first trade show in Long Beach, my favorite part of TNNA was talking with many of our retailers. I particularly enjoyed getting to know Lynn, Patty and Martina of the Crafty Lady Trio in Macomb, MI. We went to dinner with the ladies on Sunday night and I was so impressed with all of the amazing services they provide. From their independent designs to their fit and stitch expertise to their Club Trio events, their shop is so much more than a yarn store…it’s an experience. I just wished I lived a little closer so I could join in on the fun!
You may have noticed from our Facebook photos that Barrison also joined us at TNNA. Be sure to check back next week for the photo slideshow of her trip!
