Amy’s Thread: Extra-Last-Minute-Gift ideas for Knitters

Last week I rounded up some favorite gift ideas for knitters, if you missed the post you can find it here. This week I’ve got a few super-last minute gift ideas for the knitters on your list, things that aren’t “things” and don’t require shipping fees or deadlines.

In just the last season Berroco has started to launch ebook downloads with our PDF collections, now you can purchase the complete collection via Ravelry as well as individual PDFs in our shop. Ravelry also has a great “send as gift” feature in the download box so the patterns will be sent directly to your recipient and saved in their pattern Library if they are a Ravelry member. The ebooks are available at your LYS through In-Store PDF purchases as well.

Audio books – most bookshops have a recorded books section with books on CD. I use and can recommend Audible,  a subscription Audio book service from Amazon, but there are other services as well. I found a cross comparison of several here if you prefer to shop around. We are all really big fans of audio books to keep us company while we knit, so here are a few favorites from the design team.

And my last-but-not-least suggestion, a donation to charity. My favorite is Heifer International because I can personalize the gift by tailoring it to the recipient, there is a ‘gift’ for any price and a few fiber-y themed options as well. A donation to a charity that is near and dear to the recipient is especially good, what ever your cause.
