Looking for a fun project to do this holiday break with little ones? We introduced free finger puppet patterns in this week’s KnitBits as something quick to make but loads of fun to play with.
Each finger puppet is introduced below along with links to helpful how-to videos on techniques you’ll learn/need to know.
First meet Holly Hedgie! Your festive holiday hedgehog.
Her soft spines are worked by picking up along the edge of the body and doing a form of a picot bind off.
Then there is Chicken Finger! The household happy chicken.
This little chicken is so simple to knit. Cast on and then join for working in the round on double pointed needles. Using the picking up stitches video from above and simple decreases shown here, here and here, you will have you chicken finger puppet knit in no time.
Last, meet Juniper the sheep!
Juniper the sheep is very easy too! Cast on and join to work in the round, Then using a crochet hook make a chain to form the arms, legs and ears of the little lamb.
We hope enjoy them as much as we did.
Happy Making!
