CLOSED. Making: A giveaway

The Remix Light KAL winds down at the end of this week but there is still weeks of summer left and to celebrate we’re giving away a copy of Making No. 3: Dots and the yarn to knit your own Hope Cardigan in Remix Light .

DSC_5197The Hope Cardigan is worked from sleeve cuff to center back in 2 pieces. The center back is joined with a three-needle bind off, and the side seams are sewn before the hem and button band are picked up and worked. A column of eyelets runs up the sleeve and over the shoulder for a simple, feminine but unfussy detail. The sleeve increases are incorporated into the columns of eyelets on the sleeves.

Knitted up in Remix Light, the Hope Cardigan is a sweet wardrobe basic, the kind of project to take along to beaches and picnics in the dog days of summer, and have ready when the first crisp days of fall have you reaching for a light cardigan.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment on this post telling us which shade of Remix Light you’d knit your Hope Cardi with. One winner, chosen at random, will receive a print copy of the Making magazine and enough Remix Light to knit their Hope Cardigan (and maybe a few other Berroco goodies as well!). Contest is open to anyone 18 years of age and older, anywhere in the world, until Sunday, July 16th (11:59pm EST). Good luck!

  1. Me encanta, las mangas son muy bonitas y la espalda muy origibal, me lo haría más largo

  2. In honor of the theme of Making No. 3 I’d choose Old Jeans for making the cardigan. I also really like Cameo Pink for it.

    1. Lisa, I did the KAL and used Remix Light in “Old Jeans”. I loved the color. Good luck. Teri

  3. Ok, can’t not try!
I’m not sure if the magazine (of which I’ve heard a lot of good things!) or the yarn (a definite!) is more tempting.
    Color choice: 6993 Pepper

  4. I’d use Almond. It’s a nice, neutral, linen-y colour that will look cool & breezy all summer and go with everything in my wardrobe.

  5. So far I love Remix Light and I have the first two issues of Making, so I’d be thrilled to win this giveaway! If I do win, I’d like to make my sweater in Patina, a beautiful neutral.

  6. I really really wanted to join the KAL after seeing this design in Making. It’s tops on my to-knit list, but like so many things when you have nine kids, it just doesn’t get done! Picking colors is SO hard for me. I could see this sweater knit up in all the color choices. I think mine would be buttercup as it’s just so cheerful!

  7. This sweater makes me think of a comfy pair of jeans so of course I’d make it in the Old Jeans color! Love the detail on the sleeves!!

    1. Marilyn, I did the KAL and used Remix Light in “Old Jeans”. I loved the color. Good luck. Teri

    1. Louise, I did the KAL and used Remix Light in “Old Jeans”. I loved the color. Good luck. Teri

  8. Patina. It is my favorite color from Berroco Remix. Glad to see that you have it in Remix Light.

  9. It’s a toss-up between Strawberry and Juniper. I love many of the colors. Thank you for the giveaway

  10. I love all the colors, but I think I would choose Mist as it is a neutral that would match a lot of outfits.

  11. I could see this cardigan in any of the Remix colors but I think a pepper one would be the most versatile for me. Thank you for hosting such a great giveaway!!!

  12. I’m torn–the colors are phenomenal and I can’t wait to get a closer look at them at my LYS. If I had to choose from the photos, I’d say old jeans or patina.

  13. Hard to choose among such lovely colors, but I think Juniper would be my choice for a sweater.

  14. I would love to win this yarn and juniper is my color choice. Thank you for this giveaway.

  15. Oh my goodness I love them all! I’m torn between Almond and Strawberry. Almond probably wins out by a hair since it’ll go better with my wardrobe.

  16. I already used the original Remix to knit cardigans, love my old jeans blue hoodie. Think I should use the Almond color of Remix Light to do this next one!

  17. I would have to go with Old Jeans, or perhaps Patina. What a lovely and versatile pattern!

  18. Still knitting my Depeche. Love the sleeves on this CARD IS! I’don’t knit it in pepper.

  19. Birch! Remix has always been a favorite yarn and I am so pleased it is available in another weight/gauge.

  20. Either cameo pink or strawberry – it’s a lovely pattern. I like sweaters that I can dress up or down

  21. I love all the colors I am torn between the juniper and old jeans. I love the sleeves.

  22. Buttercup is a color I’ve never knit with. Would like to make this, my second sweater!

  23. Oh this is a sweet sweater for sure! I would knit this up in Strawberry and my second choice would be Juniper. ❤️❤️❤️

  24. This just might be the sweater that gets me to try things with sleeves. I have knit to ns of vests well 13. I would use old jeans. I love blue
    Karen

  25. I would pick Strawberry. I love that issue of Makng; I made Kanoko Socks and a woven wall hanging so far!

  26. Definitely Strawberry! I just purchased two skeins of Remix to make my first pair of socks for my vegan son. Now, I’d love to try Remix light to make a sweater for my mom!

  27. So many beautiful colors, and so hard to choose one! I just might have to knit up 12 sweaters! I’d start with Cameo Pink, then Mist, then Smoke……

  28. Tough decision! But Juniper matches my work apron the best.
    Got my fingers crossed!!!

  29. Pepper, definitely, or maybe smoke. I can’t decide. I love gray and have 2 gray hand knit cardigans already and you know, could use more 😉

  30. I would like to make this in Old Jeans, to wear with white slacks or jeans this summer. Having a problem finding it though 🙂

  31. All of the colors would make the pattern details shine but I’m partial to the birch.

  32. Strawberry would be top of my list for this lovely cardigan. Have heard lots of great things about this wool ….. especially from my LYS employees.

  33. Mist! Love the Hope cardigan and have had my eye on the Khamaseen pattern as well.

  34. I have always enjoyed using Berroco yarns for both knitting and crochet projects, however I have not yet tried Remix Lite. It would be perfect to win this giveaway and then knit myself a Hope Cardigan in either Old Jeans or Strawberry. I love the simple eyelette detail in this pattern and with the style being timeless, I am sure this pattern would be used for years to come.

  35. Looks like a nice item to knit- I’ve never knitted a sweater sure wouldn’t mind winning to make a first!!

  36. So many beautiful colour choices (hard to find where I live). I’d pick Patina!

  37. I can only pick 1 color? Honestly, I don’t think there is a color I don’t like but since I’d wear it all the time I think I’ll go with patina.

  38. the construction looks so interesting and fun! So hard to choose a bit I think I would have to go with Pepper.

  39. All of them? Strawberry and Old Jeans are both so classic. Patina would make a stellar neutral. Butter cup is so happy …
I guess I’ll say Smoke since I need more neutral but it’s a hard call to make.

  40. I would definitely chose old jeans. At this point, I’m not even sure if I already entered this giveaway…thanks!

  41. My choice of this lovely yarn would be old jeans – juniper would be my second choice. It is beautiful, classy, subtle and so wearable.

  42. My choice would be Patina. I’m just finishing a longer version of Derecho. Love this yarn!

  43. I’d like to try it in either Mist or Smoke. I’ve used the regular Berroco Remix and love it. Plus, I like the idea of finding a second life for some of these fibers before they are relegated to the landfill. Thanks.

  44. I’m torn between Strawberry or Mist. All the colors are lovely, and the pattern is certainly a winner. Love how unique.

  45. You really want us to choose one?! Must. Knit. ALL the colors!!!! 😉

If I HAVE to choose, it would be Buttercup!

  46. WoW! I love the details!! I would like the mist!! Thank you for thé giveaway!

  47. Earth most definitely!! I would love to wrap myself in this sweater as I step outside into Fall with my morning cup of coffee. Love the little details in the pattern and the fact the yarn was recycled!

  48. Hard choice…. mist, grey, almond, buttercup, old jeans ….. finally give a try to old jeans !!!! Love recycling choice

  49. Strawberry. I love all the neutrals, but that would be my favourite colour. Thank you for the opportunity.

  50. I would knit this in old jeans this pattern looks very comfortable like a pair of old jeans.

  51. I would definitely use Old Jeans 6927 to make this as I am usually seen wearing jeans since retirement.

  52. I like very much the Berroco yarns and I would like to do this cardigan in “Smoke”. I am sure the color looks rich and soft.

  53. So many color choices…and all beautiful! Though I love Old Jeans, I would love to make this in Juniper.

    Thanks!

  54. My choice for the Hope Cardigan is Pepper in Remix Light. I have a beautiful cowl that I knit that will look great with it.

  55. I ljust be both Smoke and Patina, such a hard choice, but I’m going to say Patina.
