Berroco Pima 100™ is the newest addition to the Berroco stable of workhorse yarns. This 100% cotton is spun into a 4-ply yarn for softness and superior stitch definition. Unmercerized cotton has a matte finish making it a staple for wardrobe building sweaters and summer accessories. The Pima 100 pattern collection features 6 patterns, but with a versatile worsted-weight gauge of 5 sts to 1″, there are hundreds of patterns to knit with this yarn in the Berroco pattern library.
Some of my favorite spring and summer knits have been from the Berroco Indigo collections. Berroco Indigo™ is a recycled cotton yarn with a slubby rustic texture. Any of the patterns designed for Indigo would look sophisticated in Pima 100. Take, for example, Doli (below), a garter stitch kimono-style cardigan knit in 3 colors.
For a more polished look, swap out the marl for a subtle heather shade, choose a tonal color combination for the MC and the CC, then replace the CC2 (those dark blue bands) with something that pops! My picks:
8406 ‘Stonecrop’, 8470 ‘Goats Beard’ and 8436 ‘Nasturtium’
8422 ‘Sage’, 8435 ‘Oregano’ and 8419 ‘Dianthus’.
