Red carpet events are a fun place to look for style and color ideas. This year I saw a lot of red, white and black classic looks – overall a fairly conservative red carpet – but there were some standout actors and actresses whose Oscar looks we loved.
The obvious match: Emma Stone wearing Elie Saab with our devoré effect yarn, Berroco Mixer in shade 8122 “Twist”
David Oyelowo in Dolce & Gabbana, Cosma in 2460 “Lotus”
America Ferrera, wearing Jenny Packam, made me want to cast on with Kodiak 7040 “Alpine” right now
Octavia Spencer is stunning in a Tadashi Shoji gown, which is a perfect match for Berroco Folio 5410 “Cliff”
Eddie Redmayne in Alexander McQueen, our single ply Peruvian wool and Tencel blend Berroco Lustra in shade 3180 “Abyss”
Champagne was arguably the color of the evening: Oprah’s dreamy Vera Wang gown, Chloe Grace Moretz wearing Miu Miu and Kiera Knightly in Valentino, matched with Berroco Elements in shade 4976 “Xenon,” Berroco Captiva in shade 5540 “Marscapone” and Andean Mist 6303 “Huayna Picchu”
What did you think of the colors on this year’s Oscars red carpet?
