Emily Explains: Knit From the Red Carpet

When I was a little girl I absolutely loved the Oscars. At the time, I was too young to really know what movies or actors were being honored. I only cared about one thing – the red carpet and the designers.

Valentino, Oscar de la Renta, Givenchy and Armani, are the names that stuck with me. I would sit at the edge of my seat as the beautiful men and women walked and posed on the red carpet in their finest attire.

This year’s Oscars was no exception. My two favorite dresses were worn by Joanna Newsom and Kiera Knightley.

I would love to wear a sweater or big shawl similar to Joanna Newsom’s dress. Here’s a swatch I knit using Andean Mist and the pattern stitch from our Pippin pattern!

Maybe one day I can design a dreamy floral sweater or shawl with this swatch in mind. Did you want to knit anything from the red carpet?
