Laura Biondi’s Versatile Pandora Necklace started as a gift to herself. She had received one skein of Berroco Versa for her birthday and wanted to make something extra special with it. She designed a cute crochet necklace pattern featuring Pandora style beads on three i-chords (which could be knit, as well!). Since then, she’s been flooded with compliments and requests for the pattern. “I’m also teaching a class on the necklace at my LYS, The Red Thread, and the waiting list is full!”

How did you come up with this pattern?
I got the idea for a necklace because it wouldn’t take much yarn and had ONLY ONE SKEIN. I searched online for knitted and crocheted necklaces but I wasn’t impressed with what I found. Then I had a vision of a lovely three-layered necklace with Pandora-style beads scattered throughout. The rest is history. I actually left work during my lunch hour to buy beads and findings for the necklace.
What’s your favorite project ever?
My favorite project ever is my Breathless Cardigan. I designed it myself, and someday, I’ll learn how to size it so I can share my pattern!
Any knitting/crochet disaster stories?
The first clothing item I ever attempted to make ended up the right size for a two year old, though it was supposed to be for me. I foolishly thought that I didn’t need to do a gauge swatch. Never again! I had that sweater sewn together and everything before I realized my horrible mistake. What’s worse, I didn’t know ANY two year olds!
What’s your favorite thing about knitting/crochet?
My favorite thing about crochet is that it is very relaxing, and it is a wonderful creative outlet. I love looking at a skein of yarn and suddenly an amazing idea comes into my head.
Do you have a cool design you want to share? Or did you recently finish a project with Berroco yarn? You can email Ashley: apalumbo@berroco.com or post it to the Berroco Lovers forum in Ravelry.
Very nice!!!
Glad you like it, Barb!
