Spring/Summer 2013 Trunk Shows

When it comes to choosing a project, especially a garment, it isn’t just about how well you knit, but also, how well the finished object will fit. That’s one of the reasons I love our traveling trunk shows! You can touch and try on one of our new designs before you invest all of your time and energy making it.

Of course, it’s even more fun when a LYS holds a special trunk show party. It’s a great way to see friends, swap opinions and realize that something you’d never have picked out of a booklet looks great on. Norah and I were lucky enough to attend several try-on parties at nearby shops earlier this month. We loved meeting fellow knitters – especially the ones who wore Berroco designs that they’ve knit (as seen on our Spotted in the Wild board) – and seeing which designs were most popular. Pause from Norah Gaughan vol. 12 has been a big hit this season. Our New England sales rep Andra says it’s like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Everyone can wear Pause!

Unfortunately, Norah can’t travel to every yarn shop.  I know some of you probably think that’s not fair, and you’re right, it isn’t. But there just aren’t enough days in the year and frankly, I think we’d all prefer she spends that time cranking out more beautiful designs.  So here’s the compromise.  Our trunk shows are currently making their way to yarn shops across the country (check with your LYS). I’ve also made a video from our visits, so you won’t totally miss out on the Norah experience!
