Last winter, Pantone declared the Color of the Year for 2011 to be Honeysuckle, a reddish pink which, according to Pantone, “will ward off the blues.” It’s June already, and I think their prediction is holding true six months later. This vibrant color still looks fresh, and it seems like a perfect shade to use whenever your wardrobe needs a little perking up. I’ve picked out some of my favorite Honeysuckle variations from our yarn lines:

When flipping through Berroco’s warm weather pattern collection, this fun, wearable color keeps popping up. Some of the garments photographed in shades of Honeysuckle also offer ideas on what colors to pair it with:
Salado (from Norah Gaughan, vol. 8) – Two different shades of purple-gray create an interesting contrast.
Galinhos (from Booklet #305) – A multicolored yarn with lots of pink and red tones can be balanced by a solid top in light lavender.
Vives (from Booklet #307) – A bronze-ish green worn underneath makes the reddish tones pop.
Parkour (from Booklet #309) – A neutral blue-gray allows the pink color to remain the focus.
With this color trend still going strong, now’s the perfect time to try it out if you haven’t already. Let Honeysuckle chase all your blues away!
