Color ways for the Marne Cardigan

The Marne Cardigan from the Berroco #399 Brielle was one of the most fun projects to design from the Fall 2018 collection. I had long dreamed of a perfect cropped tweed jacket in the style of the iconic Chanel jackets. Brielle is a worsted weight yarn with a brushed wool/alpaca blend and cotton/poly strand plied together with a thin metallic thread running through it. The result is a yarn that is soft and light with just the teeny-tiniest hint of glam, the perfect yarn for the perfect jacket.

The classic cream/beige and black color way of Blond, Brun, and Noir shown is a fool-proof combination, but there are so many color ways that can be created with this limited palette. Inspired by a knitter on Ravelry (hi Diane!) who asked for some alternate suggestions, I though I would share with you all a few of my favorite combinations.

Vert + Bleu with Noir contrast

Noir + Blond with Rouille contrast

Rouille + Bleu with Blond contrast

Charbon + Gris with Noir contrast

I could keep going… Do you plan to make a Marne? I’d love to hear what color ways you’re considering.
