Amy’s Thread: Thinking About Cotton

Last night we got another blanket of snow here in New England, but it’s now March, ‘in like a lion, out like a lamb‘ right? Time to start dreaming and scheming about spring and summer knits.

Spring weather is fickle. Chilly mornings can turn into balmy afternoons that quickly cool back down as soon as the sun starts to set. This time of year is perfect for worsted weight cotton yarns, which are substantial enough to cozy up with but still comfortably cool.

Berroco Maya is a chainette construction yarn that is light and crisp, yet still soft and warm with 85% Cotton and 15% Alpaca.

Berroco Indigo is our new recycled cotton yarn that will surprise you. It is easy care (machine wash, no fear of shrinking!) with a sophisticated finish.

With a gauge of 20 sts x 28 rows in 4″ these yarns can be used interchangeably see the full catalog of designs for Maya here and Indigo here.

I’m thinking if I start knitting now, I’ll have something to wear by the time all of our snow melts!
