It can be hard to judge personality from a single photograph, but we knew immediately that Pat Philbin could work it in front of the camera! Since she also lives nearby, Pat and Norah were able to meet up prior to our What to Knit shoot for an afternoon shopping trip. They picked up a few fun wardrobe pieces to complement both Pat’s personal style and Norah’s designs.
For this episode, we decided it would be fun to pick patterns exclusively from Norah Gaughan vol. 14. This way, the all garments have a similar feel – lots of angles and bit of lace shown off in beautiful neutrals.

Behind the Scenes:
Did Pat pick the sweater you liked best?
This video was very helpful in choosing style of sweater for her body and garments to match the sweaters with! I loved it!
Glad you liked it!
Love seeing all the sweaters on Pat, she looked great in everything. The Yaw I made still looks fantastic, I was rooting for that one of course!
She did look great in all of them, but Yaw was a unanimous favorite!
Liked seeing the garments on someone my age.
Pat, you are a good sport, and just danced with great style and verve throughout the video. Loved this! loved seeing the top three picks (altho I really liked the very last sweater on her), styled three ways – Norah and Pat make a terrific team! Norah, your designs are ageless – we see them in the booklets on women young enough to be our daughters, and they look so good on Pat as well. Thanks!
It was great to see these sweaters on an “older” model and the different bottoms to wear with them. I like everything about the Yaws except the fit on Pat. It seems too long and sloppy. If I wore it – especially to work – I would be fussing with the neckline and pushing up the sleeves constantly. I really like Sprag and Quoin and hope to make one of them.
I’m knitting Yaw right now and will be amending it to have shorter sleeves. They were definitely too long (for me) on the sample.
I am so inspired!!! Love the “What to knit” video and styling. So many ideas and Nora is one of my all time favorite designers!! Keep up the great work, gals!
