Get to Know Berroco: Our New Design Director

If you couldn’t tell from the title of this post (or the picture), I have some HUGE news to share! Next month, the oh-so-talented Amy Christoffers will be joining our team as the new Design Director!

Whew…so glad I don’t have to keep that secret anymore!

As many of you know, Amy has designed dozens of popular patterns under her independent label, Savory Knitting. Her style is beautiful, wearable and a perfect match for Berroco! And she’s had plenty of experience working with our yarns. Here are just a few examples:

Amy will be joining us for part of our Fall/Winter ’14 photo shoot next week and will then work closely with Norah to learn the ropes. As sad as I (and everyone at Berroco) still am to see Norah go, we’re so thankful she’s leaving us is such good hands!

You can look forward to seeing Amy’s first designs for Berroco in the Spring/Summer ’15 collection!

Help Us Welcome Amy to the Team!

Are you as excited as we are? Welcome Amy with your comments below.

  1. Way to go Amy!!!!!!! Sorry you’ll be leaving Central Vt. Proud papa sent out an email to everyone as soon as this broke. So happy for you!

  2. Berroco was the first place I found that had patterns that you actually wanted to both knit and wear! Amy has big shoes to walk in but I look forward to continuing to see Berroco be a lead in offering both great yarn and great patterns. Welcome

  3. Congratulations Amy! Now we can stop pestering your Mom at guild, lol! I can’t think of a better match. Wishing you all the success and joy in the world. Well done!

  4. Although I am happy that you have a talented new designer in Amy Christoffers, I am very sad that Norah Gaughan is leaving. Can’t you both stay?

  5. Looking forward to wonderful new things from Berroco. Congrats Amy! And all the best to Norah if she is indeed moving on – I look forward to seeing where her move takes her designs too.

  6. Norah leaves big shoes to fill and I think Amy was a wonderful choice for that task! She has a wonderful design aesthetic. Congrats Amy! And best of luck on your new path, Norah. Glad to know it will still contain knit design. : )

  7. I can’t believe Norah is leaving, but she couldn’t do any better than Amy for a replacement! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amy’s designs….she’s been my absolute favorite designer (after only Norah, of course) for a couple years now, and I’m soooo happy that you’ve hired her as the new design director. She deserves it and I’m really excited to follow along while she whips up new and beautiful knits for Berroco! Great combo – Amy & Berroco!
