It’s official: the first snowflakes of the season are falling outside the Berroco office! And what better way to spend a snowy day than tangled in yarn working on a new project? With that in mind, I’m sharing a few independently designed patterns using Berroco yarn.
If you have to go out in the cold, it’s important to be warm and fashionable! The “Celtic Cowl” designed by Kendall Nahorniak will protect your neck from any winter chill. It’s crocheted using Berroco Comfort. I’m partial to anything Irish, but I also like how the use of two colors makes the cable stand out.
The “Jennifer Boot Cuffs” designed by Kate Bostwick are a great accessory to any outfit. She knit them using Berroco Ultra Alpaca. Is it just me, or it there something about white yarn that makes cables look extra cozy?
“Sweet Pea” is a felted bucket bag designed by Annie Lee. It’s not only cute, but a quick knit, too! Annie used several strands of Berroco Ultra Alpaca to make hers. Best of all, there’s no seaming required. Just knit, felt and you’re ready to start your holiday shopping! You’re buying more yarn, right?
Are you or someone you know expecting a new baby this winter? Every newborn needs a handmade blanket. So you can’t go wrong with either of the following patterns. The “Babe in the Mist” baby blanket is simple and sophisticated. Kathleen Dames knit hers with Berroco Vintage, which is a great choice because it’s super soft and machine washable.
The “Blanket for Baby Cadwell” designed by Jennifer Mattesky was inspired by the “Circle & Stripes Stroller Blanket” by Susan B. Anderson. Jennifer used Berroco Weekend, which she said is perfect for the Southern California climate. It’s also soft & machine washable and it comes in a variety of colors. I love the shades she chose for striping – fun but still soothing!
