Moving On

Cirilia here! I am simultaneously excited and reluctant to announce a bit of personal news…I will be moving on from my duties at Berroco this spring!! It has been a dream to work alongside Norah and the whole team, but I am feeling the need to put my personal life ahead of my professional one, at least for now. I absolutely intend to continue working with yarn, and I hope Norah will allow me to contribute to KnitBits from afar now and again.

I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the experience I’ve gained here. There is a time warp that Norah and I suffer from, and it makes 2.5 years feel like just a handful of months. When I look back at all the things we’ve done, it feels like a decade!! We’re heading into our last round of photography together, and I couldn’t be happier about it. These intense days are always the most fun, and it feels like the perfect way to end my tenure here. All of the meetings and arguments and stresses morph into magical images (if we’re lucky). I’m sure I’ll be taking plenty of mental snapshots.

Would you like to replace me? See the job posting here. You can continue to follow my work on Ravelry here, and I will certainly update you when I have new blogs and Twitter accounts!

  1. Cirilia—— well it is time then to spread your wings and take off. I can’t wait to see where you will go. I have no doubt that you will be a lot of somethin-somethin’ no matter where you land or what you do. Go get ’em!

  2. How exciting! I always wondered how hard you guys must work to bring out so many great patterns.. Sounds like a lot!
Selfishly I’m glad you’ll still be working with yarn, you can work at your own pace from now on though, maybe knit for yourself a bit more too.

  3. It’s been lovely watching your knitting and designing blossom at Berroco. Kudos to you for a job well done. So glad I can continue to follow your knitterly escapades via Ravelry.

  4. Oh, I hope that you’ll still blog in some capacity! I always loved your designs and style so much. May the next phase or your life is full of cupcakes, good times, and happy, wonderful things!! And can I just say, if I wasn’t one country over, I’d totally apply for this job. It looks like a lot of work, but a lot of fun.

    1. Thanks! I definitely will be! You’re exactly right, and I think you’d be great at this job, but life seems pretty sweet up North, too 😉

  5. Yes, please us posted on your future blog/design endeavors. Yours will be huge shoes (needles?) to fill. Thanks for all the beautiful designs and interesting essays.

  6. This is bittersweet news for me. I always look forward to your designs. You are one of my favorite designers and I still have your old blog on Google Reader. I know the next phase of your life will be bright. Best wishes!

  7. I was visiting WEBS with friends today and finally found out about your move! I want to wish you all the best – you deserve it. I will definitely follow your endeavours. But dang I was hoping we’de be traveling to Sock Summit on the same plane again like last time on the way home, remember? AND I was so glad to be there for Abi’s photoshoot. Take good care of yourself!!!
