Emily Explains: Colorwork on the sleeves

I love how the Ellen cardigan’s sleeves have some pattern so much that I wanted to give my Helen cardigan some pattern too. I played around with Helen’s chart to try a few patterns out on the wrist.

Deciding after my first try, I wanted to keep the patterning simple. I decided to keep with the first 7 rows of the chart. So I tried again.

The pattern was close but still not quite right. I rearranged my chart one more time.

Can you notice the difference? It is subtle. The grey lines alter in length every other time they appear vs. every third time they appear in my first and second try.
