The world has been (understandably) overrun with thoughts and feelings about the cabled sweater worn by actor Chris Evans in Knives Out. The Aran-style sweater has been the talk of the town but sadly not too many of those discussions have been focused around knitting your own cabled sweater. But cables are one of my absolute favorite things to knit, so here’s a round-up of some of my favorite cabled patterns from Berroco.
If you’re looking for something in the same vein as that iconic sweater, how about Aram, a free pattern designed by Norah Gaughan? It was originally designed for Berroco Comfort, but if you prefer a wool or wool blend, you could substitute Ultra Wool, Vintage, or Ultra Alpaca.
Another great cabled pullover is Perdita, a free pattern by Amy Palmer. This one has cables only on the front, with plain seed stitch on the back and stockinette sleeves, to give your cable needle a break. I love the generous cowl neck.
I could go on (and on) about cabled sweater patterns that I love, but I think I’ll leave it there for now. Which is your favorite?
