We like treats here at Berroco, not tricks, so we’re treating you to the opportunity to win a cardigan knitting pattern and the yarn to knit it!

The folks at Annie’s, under lead designer Lena Skvagerson, create beautiful collections of knitting and crochet patterns for spring and fall, and the Autumn Bliss Collection is no exception. There are 34 patterns to peruse, and each pattern has a handy “build-a-kit” feature, so you can easily purchase the pattern and the yarn in one fell swoop.

The Nord Cardigan from designer Sandi Prosser is part of this season’s collection. This Scandinavian-inspired design uses three colors of Berroco Vintage® DK in an understated monochrome colorwork pattern.

    1. I love the smell of the rain here in the great northwest. The fresh air after a rain shower is perfect for taking a walk while staying warm in your own hand knit sweater!

    2. I love Fall. I enjoy waking up early and working out, roasting marshmallows by the fireplace, raking leaves and seeing my friendly neighbors. I love wearing warm sweaters, hats, gloves and covering at night with a warm blanket!

We always take a drive up in the mountains, when you are up on top and look out, it’s like a giant patchwork quilt done in all my favorite colors! I also love the crispness that begins to be in the air, especially in the morning. Then at night the stars can seem so close you could touch them. I love everything about fall, the smells of people burning piles of leaves, the trees, stews and chilis and cornbread.

  27. I live in the Pacific North West; I love the first of the autumnal storms. We go from stillness to wind whipped frenzy, to drizzle punctuated by rainbows. It will continue to rain throughout the winter but it always starts with theatrics and rainbows.

  67. your favorite thing about fall: Poring through my yarn stash trying to find that PERFECT yarn to start my holiday gifts for the year. I found a gorgeous (but discontinued) Berocco “Inca Gold” silk and wool blend I am so excited about, and still not sure what to make with it.
    Trivia: why it is called “fall” is because in olden times, we used the phrase “at the fall of the leaf” to denote Autumn. It was shortened to “the fall…” then just simply “fall”!
