This is the first time I’m writing about a knitting adventure that has yet to happen. The October Sweater Challenge is the next knit-along that I’ll be hosting in the Berroco Lovers group on Ravelry and it’s pretty much what it sounds like – one month to make one sweater.
I’ve done it before, and I know many of you who do it all the time, but it is still a slightly daunting deadline. That’s why I love the idea of making it a crochet/knit-along. I’ll need all the support I can get!
There’s one fun twist to this CKAL… you can choose any sweater pattern and yarn from the Berroco, Lang, and soon-to-be-released AMANO lines. So if there is a project you’ve been waiting to make, now is the time.
I’ve chosen Calleta from booklet #363 Berroco Artisan. I love all of its texture and the unusual construction, but at the same time, I know this is the kind of sweater that would stay on my needles for months (or more) without a hard deadline.
It looks gorgeous in Berroco Artisan, but given the additional freedom of yarn choice, I thought it would be fun to swatch up a few alternatives. Here are the four yarns I’m considering:
Are you up for the challenge? What sweater will you choose?
Any crochet one as well?
Yes, if you look at the thread on Ravelry that is specifically stated: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/berroco-lovers/3277384/1-25. Sorry if it wasn’t clear in this post!
