Today I am hoping for spring and loving Cimone, a fringed shawl from booklet #356 Espresso. This collection is really cool because every pattern can be made in Espresso, a colorful cotton blend, or Karma, a 100% cotton yarn that reminds me of water colors. Karma is one of my favorite summer yarns we have at Berroco, so I used it to make a swatch for Cimone.
You actually knit the whole shawl first and then, before you bind off, you let a few of your edge stitches drop, forming long loops along the edge of your shawl. You tie little knots and cut each loop to create the fringe. It’s that easy!
Follow along as I demonstrate. It might sound scary to drop stitches, but watching me should give you the confidence to try it yourself.
