In celebration of a long awaited, and now much enjoyed Spring I’ve put together a little photo essay combining snippets of what’s happening in my New Hampshire yard co-ordinated with Some spring /summer accessories from our collections. Click on the image for pattern name and more info.
Five of these nature photos were taken on the same day and one was taken 2 weeks prior. The first person to comment below correctly naming the nature photo taken 2 weeks before the other 5 and how you knew, will win a free kit. The winner can choose from among the knitted accessories pictured in this post.
the red scarf, cause the background is still brown, everything else is green.
That was fast! …and I thought I was being so clever. It’s red maple, which blooms a few weeks before the violets and other flowers shown. Email Martha at pattern support@berroco.com with your shipping address and choice of accessory!
Good job!
wowzers I can’t believe I won!!! Yippy!
I know that 3 is a violet, 4 a bleeding heart, and 5 a dandelion, but I couldn’t tell you the others. I know the first two because my family used to live in the woods, and our front yard would just be covered in violets in the spring. And I’d never have any luck with my bleeding hearts, perhaps due to too much shade 😛
Our bleeding hearts are so happy this year. I wish I could tell you the magic formula. Perhaps it’s neglect 🙂
I believe the snow drop picture was the fist taken! They were the first of the group to bloom in my yard.
I love to see all the snow drops in people’s lawns. It makes me smile.
My bleeding hearts take over my garden every year. I’ve begun splitting them each Spring and passing them out to friends. Is it bad karma to give friends bleeding hearts?
They are so pretty, it can’t be bad, even if their name makes them sound sad.
These photos and coordinated patterns are lovely and inspiring. Speaking of nature’s faithful return, I saw my first female hummingbird yesterday. They’re headed north, Norah!
Thanks Sandra! Wow,hummingbirds always seem so magical. It’s hard to believe they are real and then they flit off.
The dandy
lion–they are always first.
Bother! I knew it was the Maple because we were talking about the Maple flowers when they came out! Oh well, I can still get the yarn and pattern for myself! 🙂
Oh, hmmm, here the violets flower in February, many weeks before the Dicentra (bleeding heart) so I thought you’d put the maple in as a red herring!
Lovely pictures, btw.
Really nice work. I like all the scarf especially the red scarf and the lavender scarf. these are really helpful in the summer season and very trendy in look. keep updating more accessories.
