Holiday Patterns: Valentine’s Day

I love holidays and any reason to knit or crochet.  You might not think there would be much to make for smaller celebrations like Valentine’s Day, but I found quite a few patterns on Ravelry.

Since tomorrow’s the big day, I thought I’d share a couple of quick knits and a really cute crochet decoration.  You can find the other designs I picked in the Holiday Patterns album on our Facebook page.

Need a last minute gift for the coffee lover in you life?  This adorable heart cozy is perfect for Valentine’s Day or really any time of year.  It’s knit in our Vintage yarn, which makes it an extra cozy cozy to hold!  You can find the free pattern – with both written and charted instructions – on Ravelry.

I know what you’re thinking – you love this quirky Valentine hat but there’s no way you have time to make it.  You might be right, but the pattern is actually less complicated than it looks.  You knit the hat first and then add the skull using a duplicate stitch.  So really all you need is some Vintage yarn and the pattern.  Ready, set, cast on!

Last but not least, these simple heart ornaments were actually designed to go on a Christmas tree, but I think they’d look nice hanging in front of a window or around a doorknob.  I especially like that each heart uses three different shades of Berroco Comfort DK for added style.  If you’re really ambitious you could crochet several color variations!  The free pattern is available on Ravelry.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
