Knitter’s Spotlight: Independent Designs

This week the spotlight is on our independent designers.  We’re always amazed when we see all the beautiful and varied ways you’re using our yarn.  With the official start of winter just a week away, I decided to focus on patterns that will keep you warm!

Eledixon made this “Blue Hen Blankie” for a University of Delaware student.  It’s designed to be completely reversible, not to mention it’s a great display of school colors!  She used the Fluted rib stitch from Barbara Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.  The whole project uses two strands of Berroco Comfort DK held together.

If you ask me, you can never have too many knitted infinity scarves.  I love that you can wear them so many different ways.  But most of all, I love that it’s almost impossible for an infinity scarf to slip off and into the snow! (Am I the only one that uncoordinated?)  JumperCablesKnitting designed this cozy cowl using Berroco Ultra Alpaca.  Her pattern, which is available on Ravelry, includes instructions for a single or double wrap scarf in two different widths, all knit in the round.

No doubt you’ve heard that heat escapes through your head.  If you’re looking for a stylish winter hat pattern, you’ll love Berkshireknitter’s Sea Smoke Hat.  My favorite detail is the lacy side fan, which is knit right into the ribbing.   And of course, Berroco Flicker is the perfect yarn to give this fancy hat a bit of sparkle.  Best of all, there‘s a matching scarf (featured in our July Independent Patterns) to complete your cold weather look.  Both patterns are available on Ravelry.

Have you designed something cool with Berroco Yarn?  Send Ashley a photo: apalumbo@berroco.com or post it to the Berroco Lovers forum in Ravelry.  You might be the next knitter we spotlight!

    1. Hi Christine,

We actually don’t have any other pictures of the Anna dress, because the pattern is so old. I’m sorry I can’t be more help.
