Eileen Vito’s first knitting project went to the dogs. I mean that literally, of course. She knit sweaters for her two dogs. Unfortunately, both dogs gained weight and the sweaters got too tight. Eileen says she’s pretty sure this is just a coincidence and not a reflection of their feelings about her knitting! Either way, she was hooked on her new hobby. When I was a little girl, I would have loved to have a knitted sweater coat like the ones Jessie Rayot made for her four-year-old twins. Okay, if I’m being totally honest I still want one as an adult! With beautiful colored panels, a full skirt for spinning and an adorable elfin hood, Rayot’s Kat Coat may look as though it’s straight out of a fairy tale.
