Barrison bearly had a chance to get over the jet lag from her SoCal vacation before she was on the road again. This time she joined the rest of the design team for our Spring/Summer ’14 photo shoot in New Hampshire. Since it was her second trip to the Granite State, she didn’t have to knit anything new! The first thing I noticed about Cambria was her height. Of course, it didn’t help that she was standing next to Norah! Cambria had warned us about her 6 ft frame before agreeing to be our What to Knit model, but we were up to the challenge and confident that a number of our new patterns would look great on her. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Spinning Yarns in New Hampshire for a day. I got to know Margot (the owner), Kerri, and Dianna (Margot’s mom!). It was so wonderful! I joined in on their morning class where everyone brought the project they were working on. All of the knitters were helping each other and sharing ideas. It was a day filled with knitting and great conversation! We discussed everything from our favorite yarns and patterns to techniques we found confusing. Read more
The past few weeks have been whirlwind. I know I say this a lot, but it’s true! We brought on our new designer, Emily, we announced our new collection for Fall/Winter ’13 and last Friday night, we debuted a few of our favorite new designs on the runway at The National Needlearts Association’s (TNNA) Fashion Show in Columbus, OH. As many of you know, we switched manufacturers last year, which caused a delay with some of our Berroco Comfort yarns. It was tough because – as much as we knew we wanted to take the time to make sure our new Comfort yarn was as good or better than our old Comfort yarn – we HATE backorders! I’m sure you can relate.
