Knitter’s Spotlight: Maxim Sweater by XXKnitWhispererXX

Maxim by XXKnitWhispererXX

Booklet #303 Berroco Remix is full of classic patterns for the entire family.  If you’re looking for a great knit for kids, you’ll love the textured sweater, Maxim.

XXKnitWhispererXX recently made Maxim for her daughter and she’s gotten a lot of compliments on it.  She says she loves knitting with Remix because it’s machine washable.  Read more about her process:

Why did you want to make this pattern?

I wanted to make this pattern because the picture on the front of the book spoke to me. It actually screamed at me “buy this book and make EVERYTHING in it!”

Who did you make it for?

I made the Maxim sweater for my daughter but have since made the Deran hat for myself.

Any funny stories about your process?

When I first started making this sweater I thought my gauge was on. I had checked it the night before. I had literally knit the entire body of the sweater before I realized that it would fit me. Thankfully it worked up rather quickly and reknitting the entire thing wasn’t that big of a deal.

How long have you been knitting?

My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 8. My friend taught me how to knit when I was 18. Now I knit all the time. I carry it everywhere with me. I even manage to sneak some knitting in while I am at work.

What’s your favorite Berroco Yarn?

Oh my goodness. This is such a hard question. I truly love all Berroco yarns. I have used Pure Merino, Remix, Link, and NaturLin and love them all.  I look forward to knitting with the many yarns that are available and I have yet to discover.

Have you recently finished a Berroco pattern you want to share?  You can email Ashley: apalumbo@berroco.com or post it to the Berroco Lovers forum on Ravelry.
