Knitter’s Spotlight: Miniature Alpine Sweater by TgrLly01

Planning to trim the tree this weekend?  You might want to add some knitted ornaments, like our Minutia, as a finishing touch.  With dozens of designs to choose from you’ll be able to deck the halls, too!  Plus they’ll be the fastest handknit sweaters you’ve ever made!  TgrLly01 finished her Miniature Alpine Sweater in just two days. Here’s what she had to say about the project.

Why did you want to make this pattern?

I made this pattern because the tiny sweaters are just so adorable! Also, I love color work but feel I’m not ready for a large project.Any modifications to the pattern?

I wanted it smaller so I made the body of the sweater shorter by leaving out one of the stripes. I steam blocked it before sewing it together and that really helped the stitches ‘settle in’. I made a miniature clothes hanger for it by reshaping a large paper clip.

Who did you make it for?

I made it for my DIL as a Christmas gift ornament. I plan to put it in a card that says “I made you a sweater for Christmas” on the outside. On the inside it’ll have the sweater attached to the card and say, “I hope you like it!”

What did you think of the finished project?

I think it’s so fun! I want to make more in other colors and patterns. When I showed it to my knitting group it was a hit! The general reaction was, “Ohhh… it’s so cute!”

How long have you been knitting?

I’ve come back to knitting again after about 20 years. That was about 7 years ago.

Have you recently finished a Berroco pattern you want to share?  You can email Ashley: apalumbo@berroco.com or post it to the Berroco Lovers forum in Ravelry.
