Remix makes the Cover of Knitty!

I thought the boatneck and  side shaping gave my Aran a bit of a Jean Seberg-in-the-french-sailor-tee kinda vibe , so I named it Beatnik. Our model had fun with this one:

…and I had a chance to play with cables.  The mini cables alternating with st st is becoming a recurring element.  See our free pattern Wishbone and Barnard from booklet 286.

I’m dreaming of making one for myself with  an oversized body and slim fitting sleeves – one of my favorite combinations.  I’ll make a body 4-6″ bigger than my bust measurement, eliminate the side shaping and follow the sleeves and armhole for my size.   I will definitely use the Remix, now, what color?

I’m thinking Maple Sugar – I love how cables look in neutral tones.

  3. Ooh, I love remix and the beautiful light in your photos. I’m in this same issue of Knitty, with my Eleanor Cowl. I was so excited to be accepted, I thought I’d faint. Does being accepted for publication still hold excitement for you?

      Thanks so much!

I have to admit that being accepted to a publication isn’t as thrilling as it once was, but that’s after 30 years after my first publication and hundreds of sweaters later. The thrill did last for a long time. :)

…and I have managed to find new excitement

Your cowl is very beautiful and I know HUNDREDS or THOUSANDS of them will be knit.

      • There was a little Norah giddiness when you heard you’d be the cover ;)

I LOVE this sweater. I just finished Baby Poonam for my nephew and enjoyed doing the cable work. I can’t wait to make this for myself! I have to admit, I’m a huge Berroco fan…yarns and patterns.

When I saw the picture of this gorgeous sweater, I suddenly had a flashback to how much I *loved* the red-ish cabled sweater my Gran knit for me. Thank you for that! This is on the top of my to do list. The stitches you chose and how you placed them, the 3/4 sleeves with the great neckline, mmmm… scrumptious!
